AC Power SPD
The CSMS series AC power distribution system surge protective devices (surge protectors) are designed in accordance with IEC 61643-11 and GB/T 18802.11 lightning protection standards, and are applicable for the protection of power supply and electrical equipment in AC power distribution systems. They have passed the lightning protection tests conducted by professional national testing institutions. Once an overvoltage occurs, the surge protectors can instantly connect the protected lines to the equipotential system, ensuring that all ports of the equipment are at the same potential. At the same time, they discharge the large amounts of pulse currents generated on the circuit due to lightning induction, clamp the overvoltage, and reduce the voltage difference at each port of the equipment.
Our AC Power SPD
Our products can effectively clamp the instantaneous high voltage of the circuit, ensuring that all subsequent precision electrical equipment and industrial control instruments are not damaged by surge currents.

SOLUTIONS
FAQ
How often should AC SPD be inspected or replaced?
AC SPD should be inspected regularly, especially after thunderstorms or electrical faults. If the status indicator shows failure or the remote alarm indicates a fault, the SPD module should be replaced.
Can AC SPD protect equipment without proper grounding?
No. Proper grounding is essential for effective surge protection. Without a reliable grounding path, the SPD cannot safely discharge surge energy.
What does Imax or In mean in AC SPD?
In is the nominal discharge current that the SPD can repeatedly handle under standard test conditions. Imax is the maximum discharge current the SPD can withstand once under defined test conditions.
What pole configuration should I choose for AC SPD?
The pole configuration depends on the power system. Common options include 1P, 1P+N, 2P, 3P, 3P+N, and 4P. The selection should match the electrical system and grounding arrangement.
How do I choose between Type 1 and Type 2 AC SPD?
Type 1 SPD is recommended for the main incoming distribution side, especially where direct lightning risk exists. Type 2 SPD is commonly used in sub-distribution boards to protect downstream equipment from induced surges and switching overvoltage.
What is an AC power surge protective device?
An AC power surge protective device is used to protect low-voltage AC electrical systems from transient overvoltage caused by lightning, switching operations, or grid disturbances.
